Details:
Fascinating to see Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks "come alive" again sporting peculiar horns and symmetrical knots around the comet coma. I imaged its original outgassing in August (attached). Current photo: 20-minute LRGB with 0.37M RCOS and SBIG 11K CCD camera. Bright spectral class K0 star is SAO 46699 in Hercules (upper left). Two cryovolcanic comets in two years! Comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann in November 2022 (attached) put on a show but did not display the horn and knot symmetry we see in Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks.
