Details:
#1. After sunset the almost-Harvest Moon (36 hours short) rises in the east behind a band of fading pink clouds (so, at least this time, the pink is not the Belt of Venus). The dull blue-gray of Earth's shadow lies underneath.
#2. Worth setting up a scope tonight? comparing an infrared satellite view against the clouds themselves. The red "x" marks the location of St. George in the southwest corner of the state of Utah, whereas the center of the photograph faces south where clouds are moving in from Arizona. Maybe not.
