Details:
The instant of the Equinox in 2023 was at 6.50 UTC (8.50 local Mutare time) on 23 September. This means it was possible to record two Equinox sunsets one a few hours before and this one a few hours after the Equinox sunrise on the 23rd. The accompanying photographs and time-lapse animation were taken between 5.18 and 5.30 pm. They are special in that the Sun was so smoke-hazed that sun spots (including one large double one, dead center) were clearly visible without the need for a solar filter. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
