Details:
Auroras rocked the sky over Denali National Park this morning while I used my headlamp to illuminate the beautiful fall colors. Here in Alaska, the autumnal equinox is today, September 22 (10:50 pm AKDT to be exact). In the USA, for those in Mountain, Central & Eastern time zones, this year’s autumnal equinox lands on September 23, a day later. Close enough, we can celebrate this event both days! And we know auroras love equinoxes.
