Details:
I was driving to a spot to do astrophotography near sunset. When I was approaching the spot at 8:00 PM MST, I looked to my left and saw a bright red dot near where the sun was setting. I immediately recognized it as C/2023 P1 Nishimura. I found a safe place to pull over and quickly got out my telescope and pointed it to the comet. I got 32 photos. I thought I was going to miss this comet, I guess I was wrong! It was awesome! Equipment: Celestron 80mm refractor with 900mm focal length. 20mm eyepiece with Iphone camera adapter. Nightcap photography app.
