Today, very close to 2:45 pm, I managed to capture a curious phenomenon on the surface of the moon in broad daylight. Are there letters drawn on the lunar surface? The astonishing X that can be seen in this lunar landscape is easily observable with small telescopes, although it presents a challenge as it's an ephemeral event, visible only in the hours leading up to the waxing quarter phase. Along the line separating the illuminated region from the lunar darkness, the illusion of the X comes to life due to the arrangement of the Blanchinus, La Caille, and Purbach craters. The stark contrast between their walls illuminated by sunlight and the dark floor coincidentally gives rise to the formation of an X. Furthermore, a bit further down following the terminator line, it's also possible to make out the lunar V.
