Details:
I made this telescope modification I call it "Sun-Blocker" for my EdgeHD 14" OTA today. It is to block the Sunrays from hitting the primary mirror and returning to a corrector plate. I thought if I put my sweatshirt over part of it that would help the problem. It was not so smart of me. It did not fix anything. The Sun-rays came in from a different angle. The sweatshirt started to smolder and smoke. I could it at the right time and moved the telescope away from Venus and the rays from the Sun. My friend said it looks like the front of the Hubble Space Telescope. I plan on painting it flat black. So now the problem is fixéd. How it works with the Venus Inferior Conjunction: Today the Sun was just over Venus. I needed to block the Sunrays and still have Venus visible to the camera sensor. I will soon share with you my Venus Inferior Conjunction images. But for know I will leave you with an Venus image I took on 08-09-23. Hope you like it. Kind Regards To ALL 🙂
