Details:
Yesterday's weather prediction of "mostly clear" became today's "mostly cloudy". What gaps were available shortly after sunset were sufficient to capture the close approach of Mercury to Regulus but not much else (so no Mars or the "sickle of Leo" asterism). Venus was within a couple minutes from setting. Labelled and unlabelled versions.

Astro data:
sunset: 8:46pm MDT; civil twilight ends: 9:15pm MDT
Mercury/Regulus separation at photo time: 13' 36"
minimum separation: 6' 15" (~3.5 hours earlier)

Photo data:
Panasonic GX8, Lumix X Vario 35-100mm lens @42mm, photo tripod
... f/4.5, 1/5 sec, ISO 400
... date: Jul 28, 2023 at 9:20pm MDT (= Jul 29, 2023 03:20am UT)
