Details:
Can your naked eyes split 8' of arc? Find out Friday evening as Mercury moves rapidly southward passing Regulus in Leo. To help find them, note brilliant crescent Venus will lie about 8 degrees below them in twilgiht. the motion is shown in hourly intervals. Generated with SkyMap. Of course, better in binoculars, and please post your images. I have the Edmund 589nm sodium filter, and will see if I can catch Mercury's tail as well. The hand held iPhone 12s photo shows bright Venus with Mercury already above and to the right of it on July 24th in the twilight. See if our smart phone can split the pairing!
