Details:
I've dabbled in astrophotography, but I knew that solar photography needed super-expensive filters to be able to capture sunspots. I did not expect that the smoke from Canadian wildfires would suffice, but... hand-held from my driveway tonight, I was so surprised to be able to make out sunspots with my normal camera/lens! (Sony a7ii 600mm lens, ISO 320, 1/500s, f/6.3)
