Details:
I’ve been observing the Moon since I was 8-10 years old, I’m now 71 years young. Started with a 41/2-inch reflecting telescope and progressed from an assortment of other scopes to a 16 inch here at the observatory where I live when public viewing is allowed. Yes, the surface detail of the Moon threw any device with different shadows etc. is awesome though there’s one big problem. The features NEVER CHANGE there the same 60 years ago as they are today. Now on the other hand the Sun in H- Alfa is unbelievable for the surface detail and prominences change by the hour/day/week you don’t know what’s in store for you which makes it very exciting. So, hate to say it Moon lovers my opinion is I feel the Sun in h-alpha is by far the winner and I’m having a blast with it.
