Details:
Belt of venus, or the anti-twilight arch is an optical phenomenon caused by the backscattering of sunlight which is reflected off the dense atmosphere. It is seen as a pink band above the earth's shadow at the antisolar point during sunrise or sunset.
This image, captured at Sadhutar, Nepal shows this optical phenomenon taking place above Mount Everest. Apart from the tallest mountain in the world, two other tall peaks can be seen in the image: Lhotse (4th highest mountain) and Makalu (5th highest mountain).
