Object/Date: C/2017 K2 (PANSTARRS) @ 2023 May 9, 23:38 UT Description: Comet C/2017 K2 (PANSTARRS) on May 9, 2023, remains one of the brightest in the current comet scene. Only observable from the southern hemisphere, I had to remotely image it from the pristine Chilean skies of Río Hurtado. It still exhibits a coma wrapped in an intense green halo, as well as a dust tail reaching a length of 40 arc minutes against a beautiful starry field located between the constellation Eridanus and Lepus.
