Description:
Comet C/2022 A2 (PANSTARRS) imaged on January 22, 2023, one week after its close approach to Earth. Its brightness, also near maximum, is at magnitude 8.7 and it shows an intense green coma of about 5 arcminutes in size. A faint ionic tail of about 15 arcminutes in length is also observable.
