The sun is partying like it’s 2012 again This full disk portrait from May 21, 2023 is filled with active regions, sunspots, filaments and large prominences. The sun is on its way to solar maximum, which may arrive sooner than originally predicted, perhaps as early as next year. Captured through skies hazy with smoke from Canadian wildfires.
