Details:
These sunrise images were obtained two days apart from two separate locations. The first pair were taken from low altitude near the intersection of Bvumba Avenue and Arcadia Road in town on May 17th. These show the partially obscured Sun appearing from behind a bank of cloud above Cecil Kop at 6.42 am plus two consecutive frames extracted from a video taken of the rising Sun in which a group of sunspots is visible. The bottom one has had an almost identical SDO/HMI Daily Sun image with sunspot numbers obtained from the Spaceweather.com front page archive for 17 May 23 superimposed on it. The second pair of images, are derived from frame captures extracted from a video taken from an elevated viewpoint near the Murambi High Level Water Tanks at 6.43 am on 19th. These provide a beautiful clear record of the rising Sun just beginning to appear from behind the silhouettes of some trees on top of an adjacent hill in Cecil Kop Nature Reserve. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
