Details:
Continuing clear skies during the first week of May allowed the Full Moon to be viewed setting at Sunrise on the 6th to provide a rare third opportunity in two days that a completely Full Moon could be seen either setting or rising in Mutare. On this occasion the moonset commenced behind a bright pink Belt of Venus produced by light being reflected from a volcanic sunrise twilight arch on the opposite horizon and then completed to the accompaniment of Alpenglow on high ground caused by direct projection of early light from the rising Sun. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
