Details:
So bright very early! Then hazed out to an overall green haze with a southern band in a flattened arc across the sky. Four hours later, the arc developed waves on the upper aspect that gradually elongated and brightened toward the zenith. The band and spikes exploded and pulsated rapidly from the horizon toward the zenith. Then the auroral bands appeared again toward the north and began elongating, taller and brighter. A fantastic night, especially with the prelude of a two-day crescent Moon dancing with Venus, ready to catch her from the horizon! These images are with an iPhone, handheld; while not spectacularly sharp, they show the intensity, colours and variations.
