Details:
Since the observatory I built at my home here in upstate, NY remains covered with the remnants of several inches of snow we received yesterday, and for good measure a nice coating of sleet today, these images were taken with a simple camera-on-tripod technique. Seen setting over my observatory (which can be seen at the bottom of the right hand image with the rails folded up 'origami-style' and the separate adjacent warm room building / bar behind it); I was pleasantly surprised that this simple telephoto kit lens actually detected Jupiter's moons Callisto, Ganymede & Io as can be seen in the inset above the text.
