I was just finishing up some solar h-alpha imaging today....as the weather was finally clear and calm. As usual, I "tour" the sun before I shut down, just in case something has popped up. Well, sunspot 3234 had just popped off an M8.6 flare! I was able to image it right at maximum at 17:50 UTC. What luck! I also added a comparison image of sunspot 3234 from 17:09 UTC when the seeing was better. It was quite photogenic. Plus, there were a couple nice prominences too. All in all.....a good solar day! 127 mm f/9.4 refractor. Daystar Quark Chromosphere/Lunt tilt-tune double-stack "Frankenfilter", ZWO ASI 174mm camera.
