Details:
There was finally a clear, calm day today for solar imaging. I was not expecting much, but to my surprise, there was a strong emerging flux region resulting in a new sunspot group (AR3214) that was not showing on the sun yesterday! As is typical of EFR's, this one shows that classic bi-polar structure. Cool. There were other photogenic sunspots and sunspot groups today too, including new sunspots 3215/3216 just rotating around the edge of the sun. 127mm f/9.4 achromatic refractor, Daystar Quark C/Lunt tilt-tune double-stack "Frankenfilter", ZWO ASI174mm camera.
