Details:
This started out as a wide-field photo of the comet surrounded by the Dippers, and a vertical mosaic could have even included the peaks of the snow-laden mountains north of town. But at the end of processing there were strange, concentric, rainbow-colored artifacts that looked like symptoms of frost, a nearly unheard-of thing around here since it's usually so dry (St. George is at the NE corner of the Mojave Desert). The central area with the comet remained clear, though, so I cropped the rest away. The result looks nice enough still, just not what was intended. Gotta say, though, the comet lives up to its reputation for being green. Labelled and unlabelled versions.
