Details:
The 2.5-day old Moon poses with Venus and Saturn over St. George, Utah.

The planets form a compact triangle with the star Deneb Algiedi (= delta Capricorni). Saturn has hung tight with this star since about last March when it moved into position to do its annual retrograde loop nearby; now it has exited the loop and proceeding on its way. It won't be back this way again for 29 1/2 years.
