Details:
As a huge cloud formation heading south reached 22° to the right of the setting sun, its tiny hexagonal plate-shaped ice crystals coherently refracted sunlight, producing the phenomenon shown in the photos, called parhelion or sun dog. Photos taken in the time period 17:52-18:03 (UTC-3h) with a Nikon CoolPix P1000 camera.
