I was not expecting last night's sunset to produce some unusual effects. The temperature of the air and the water in the Pacific were about the same. Yet, sometimes the temperature profile is much more complex than it appears to be. Last night there were two inversion layers and both produced a green flash, which is not unusual. What was unusual was that both green flashes appeared at the same time. Notice also that the green turned blue in the lower flash (I was not expecting the last night sunset to produce some unusual effects.
