As usual, when the sky is clear enough to shoot for meteor or just night sky time lapse, I place my camera on my inclined window and a lens heater to catch every interesting phenomenon I can. There I spotted airglow, in different layers this time, as those are cruising in the sky before the moon is filling the backfield.
There is a stack of 4 different images, with minimum light preserved for each pixel, then filtered with unsharp mask to enhance the green pattern of airglow.
Shot from the suburb area of a 25 000 French city (in the direction of the field of view here), with EOS6D, Samyang 8mm with sun shield removed, ISO2000 and 30 sec per image (before stacking), and after the lights in the streets went off, in the village at least.
