Details:
At about a quarter past four on Thursday morning, a temporary clearance of cloud above Transmitter Hill enabled the December 8th Full Moon with a cloud halo and the red planet Mars close above to be photographed setting behind the southern shoulder of the mountain. In the accompanying views the cloud halo changes from thin and symmetrical to irregular and wispy as thicker cloud encroaches while the Moon descends. If this moonset had occurred a few minutes later it would have been obscured. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode.
