At about 5 am on Thursday 1st December a volcanic sunrise in cloudless skies projected brightly coloured crepuscular rays with cloud shadows from the sunrise point in Mozambique to the east while paler anticrepuscular rays converged on the antisolar point behind Christmas Pass to the west. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
