Retrograde motion of Mars next to the Golden Gate!
The Return of Mars occurs on December 1, 2022! On this day, Mars and Earth reach their closest distance to each other (81.5 million kilometers). Only seven days later Mars is in opposition to the Sun while shining brightest. On this day it has reached the middle of its loop on its retrograde motion.
This chrono-photography from the years 2007/08 shows quite exactly how it happens now 15 years later for the first time again.
