The Artemis I launch Wednesday was spectacular, no doubt! But the solid rocket booster separation from the core stage was scintillating, quite literally! Not sure why the booster flames "sparkled" but it was icing-on-the-cake after a perfect lift-off! I used a SONY RX10 MK IV camera to create the attached gif animation. The loop image is a 6-minute exposure with Canon 60Da and an 8mm Rokinon fisheye lens. My Cocoa Beach friends (and doggie) joined me on the beach. To celebrate Artemis finally headed around the Moon, I composited an image of the rocket on pad 39B across the Indian River with a "Mineral Moon" image I took previously. Looking forward to many more exciting launches!
