Details:
This was our first time seeing the Aurora. After a disappointing 1 1/2 hours drive north to Bow Lake to see the Aurora Borealis we headed back to camp at Tunnel Mountain in Banff. On the drive back about 1:45 am. the sky just exploded in light. It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen. The pillars of light flicked on and off, danced randomly, and moved sideways lengthening and shortening rapidly. It was overwhelming and amazing. It was as though Darth Vader was using his light saber to slash away at the fabric of space.
