Details:
With a solar wind speed of 340 km/s and an 80% waning gibbous moon one would hardly think that aurora would be possible in Southern Alberta. But I got the surprise of a lifetime as I arrived at my chosen site. The pink pillars and the dancing aurora lead into auroral beads and then finally went overhead at 0900 UTC. An amazing event considering the conditions
