Details:
I imaged the Mare Crisium /ˈkrɪsiəm/ (Latin Crisium, the "Sea of Crises") Located in the northeast quadrant of the lunar near side, Mare Crisium is a Nectarian-aged basin (about 3.9 billion years old) that spans 740 km (about 460 miles). I made this animation for the people that like something different. I imaged from my backyard observatory, in Manorville, NY. I used 2 different cameras. 1st camera was a Canon 5D MarkIII with a Baader UV/IR Cut 2.0" filter in my EdgeHD 11" OTA . I took pictures of the upper and lower half of the Waning Gibbous Moon 15.44 days old at 4:36am EST. The 2nd camera I recorded with was the Player One Saturn-M SQR USB3.0 Mono Camera (IMX533) that I put a Baader Red 610 nm Longpass 1.25" filter on it. I used a Moonlite focuser for both cameras. This animation is set for 24fps with 741 images total. For fun I was going to have a flying saucer fly out of the Moon after moving the moon slice of Mare Crisium. I also thought of have a man in the moon waving from the big opening. A "Full Moon" looks like a face to me. Hope you liked my animation. Kind Regards To ALL 🙂
