Details:
I was out stargazing and saw two pale ribbons in the sky that generally held their approx position for 3 hours. They changed shape and brightness slowly, with what seemed like a vortex visible at one point. I first noticed them running NE to SW at 2200 hrs on 09/03. They changed shape and thickness, but held their position until about midnight, when they began to shift south, running more East to West. I first thought they were contrails or clouds, but contrails and clouds would have moved and dissipated quickly with upper level winds. These changed position and shape very gradually. I am south in Charlotte, NC and doubt it was aurorae. I thought perhaps they were weather related, but again they didn't seem to move much. They were also barely visible to the naked eye. It was very subtle. They were not as bright as they appear in the images attached (15 second exposures) The exact time of observation is 09/03/2022 @ 2200 HRS to 09/04/2022 @ 0100 HRS. Any idea what these could be?
