Details:
I had just gotten to my site to find it was quite foggy, but thought I would try shooting the aurora through the fog. I made one test shot for my pano, and before I could adjust my settings, an extremely large fireball entered our atmosphere, grew larger, then winked out. I saw no tail, just a large, bright green orb that lit the landscape. I hit the shutter and hoped for the best. I was really happy to have caught it in frame, the fog adding a mystical quality to the capture. The fireball was categorized as event #5360-2022 by AMS.
