The accompanying pictures taken between 5.59 and 6.44 pm on Saturday 30th July show the young (day-and-a-half old) 3% illuminated waxing crescent Moon from when Mercury first appeared below in a fading volcanic sunset to when it set in the company of Regulus, Algeiba and Leo stars in approaching darkness. Cameras: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 and TZ60 in manual exposure mode.
