Details:
The big filament on the sun for the last week has rotated around to the edge.......so part of it is still on the disk, and part of it is off the edge. So, I guess it is a filament/prominence! Anyway, the image shows the filament plasma sheet twisting around and partially blotting out the chromospheric rim of the sun, and partially projecting out into space. Near the sun's edge, we are looking through the plasma sheet face-on....so it is thin enough to see through to the edge of the sun's disk behind it. It is a very cool effect! The other 2 images are of sunspot 3038 in h-alpha center-band and h-alpha blue-wing showing white dot Ellerman Bombs. 127mm f/9.4 refractor, Daystar Quark Chromosphere filter, ZWO ASI174mm camera.
