Details:
Yesterday, I had the good fortune to catch the International Space Station silhouetted in front of the sun - a brief (half second long!) event that I last witnessed exactly two years before. The space station looks very much the same but the sun on June 21, 2020 was utterly featureless - still deep in the depths of solar minimum. Yesterday the sun displayed many active regions, huge filaments - with an exploding prominence thrown in for good measure. I hope you enjoy the comparison!
