Details:
The third quarter Moon greets Neptune. At least it shows up as a starlike dot, unlike hopelessly faint Pluto where I had to settle for an "x marks the spot". Didn't capture Neptune's blue color, though, although the lens makes up for it with its own dramatic, colorful lens flares: a "+" cross with purplish arms inside a dark blue halo. (I do find the green reflection across the center an unfortunate distraction.) Killer image quality, though.

NGC 7727 is a peculiar face-on spiral galaxy with tidally stretched arms and 2 cores, evidently the result of a collision and merger with a smaller galaxy that is now totally absorbed.

Link to next planet in line to the west. (Saturn)
