Details:
It was disappointing to have to make a composite of 2 photos when it should have been 1. Moonrise did
occur before sunset just as depicted but clouds in the west dropped the brilliant red mountain into
colorless shadow during the actual event, so I grafted in a sunlit peak from an earlier shot. The bird flying
across the lake came to rest on a small island just outside the frame; the second photo shows it to be a
great blue heron.
