Details:
The year 2022 had eclipses as its central phenomenon in its first part. On April 30, 2022 we had a partial solar eclipse (image 1 and 2) observable for the inhabitants of Argentina and Chile. It was not a total eclipse in any geographical point, but a partial one.
After the total eclipses in Argentine territory (2019 and 2020), two annular eclipses (less spectacular than the total ones) will remain to be observed on April 8, 2024 in the province of Santa Cruz, and the one on February 6, 2026 whose centrality passes through the province of Buenos Aires, being favorable cities like Mar del Plata and Balcarce.
For those who cannot travel to other parts of the world to catch a total eclipse, in Argentina the next total solar eclipse will only be visible on December 5, 2048.
Nights after sunset on April 30, during midnight on May 16, 2022, the inhabitants of the American continent will be able to see a total lunar eclipse (image 3 and 4). For the inhabitants of the American continent it will be the last in a long time. The fully observable lunar eclipse will be next Friday, March 14, 2025 in the constellation of the Lion.
