Details:
Spring is halo season here in Europe as we often have cirrus clouds at this time of the year. Ice crystals in these clouds can reflect and refract sunlight to create spectacular halo phenomena that are often visible over large areas. In this case the most prominent feature was a complete parhelic circle: this huge white circle is formed by light reflecting from ice crystal faces and always appears at Sun's altitude, its center being the zenith. Other observed halo elements included bright circumscribed halo and sundogs, as well as faint infralateral and supralateral arcs and even the rare Wegener arcs. The phenomenon was visible from large part of Hungary, but it was reported from Czech Republic and Romania as well.
