Details:
Its been a beautiful spring day with temperatures in the upper teens (C) here near Kingston Ontario. But while the high cirrus may be annoying the solar observers, for those of us that enjoy atmospheric optics we got a nice display for an extended period as this solar halo persisted for a good part of the afternoon. The intensity of the halo was quite amazing, especially at the zenith. I managed to get this image from my backyard with my observatory in the foreground. Taken with a Nikon D800 DSLR camera and an 8mm fisheye lens.
