Details:
An hour after sunset on Tuesday, the red giant Aldebaran and the Pleiades (Seven Sisters) star cluster were photographed near Transmitter Hill above the strange magenta glow of a residual volcanic sunset twilight arch. The final montage of pictures taken between 5.25 and 6.19 pm shows development and decay of the preceding volcanic sunset display. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset and night scenery modes.
