Details:
The clouds departed around 3am this morning and with a chance of northern lights, I grabbed the camera and pointed it north. It wasn't visible to the naked eye but using a 6 sec time exposure revealed a rather weak auroral display this morning. I did enhance the colors to bring out the weak but colorful display. Typically northern lights have green in them, but if you catch the southern fringe sometimes reds appear. These however appear purple! I also used a red filter which helped reveal the faint display.
