Details:
When checking the clear and nearly cloudless sky two hours ago, I saw a kind of aureole, tightly around the sun here in Delft. Upon a closer look, the aureole appeared to be a fairly bright but pale coloured 2-fold pollen corona. Swiftly I went outdoors for a picture. I used one of the towers of the nearby Maria van Jesse church to hide the bright sunshine. According to my Dutch fellow observer Peter Paul Hattinga Verschure of Deventer, the corona producing pollen most likely originated from the Alder and/or Hazelwood tree. The picture was made with a Sony Alpha 100 camera, and I enhanced the colour saturation slightly in PhotoShop, to make the corona colourings a little more clear.
