Details:
Good visibility twenty minutes after sunset allowed the thinning Crescent Venus to appear and be observed descending between remnants of cloud above the horizon to the southwest of Mutare. The accompanying timelapse and pictures were taken using a tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 compact camera in sunset mode with a maximum optical plus digital zoom magnification of x120. In the lead x5 speed timelapse animation Venus has been further enlarged by cropping the frames extracted from a one minute video taken 30 minutes after sunset.
