Details:
Comet Leonard's tail is too long to fit on a single image with 50mm, so on Dec. 26, 20:25 UTC, I took a mosaic of two pictures. The tail extends all the way to Sculptor, it is at least 36 degrees long! Of those, six degrees could be seen in 10x50 binoculars, including the bright "knot" just 4° from the coma, associated with the disconnection event recorded earlier. Under the dark skies of La Palma, the comet was easily seen as a 3.9mag elongated cloud naked eye.
