Details:
On Dec. 14th, 15th and 16th we could see polar stratospheric clouds over Sweden in the morning and in the evening, mostly after sunset. First there were mainly the more diffuse type 1 clouds that can look very similar to noctilucent clouds although at low solar altitude they become orange and red in color. On Wednesday the 15th, we could also witness a very broad white bishop's ring caused by the strong forward scattering of the very small stratospheric cloud particles. Yesterday evening (15th) we finally saw some type 2 "mother-of-pearl" clouds, which reappeared today in the evening. We could observe them well into astronomical twilight.
