Details:
After reading today's front page commentary about the comet, I am posting my image with some trepidation. I did not find the comet easy to image Wed evening and never saw it visually through either the 7x35 or 8x56 binoculars I used despite readily spotting the stars in the Archer's head (pi, omicron, and xi-2 Sgr) next to it. Tuesday's rain cleared out the desert air so transparency was high Wednesday, but I still saw nothing, and the photos contain no evidence of any surge in brightness as it switched sides of the sky. Labeled and unlabeled versions.
The comet is moving rapidly east (left). Friday the comet will be underneath Venus, and Saturday it'll be passing through the Terebellum, the little cross-shaped asterism containing omega Sgr.
